Corinthians – Faith in the Black and White New Wieden+Kennedy São Paulo campaign for Nike.

On St. George’s Day, Nike launched the new Corinthians home and away jerseys with a design inspired by the lance wielded by the team’s patron saint. With the new concept of FAITH IN THE BLACK AND WHITE, the brand hails the São Paulo based football club as being sacred to its fans, and highlights the faith Corinthianos have in their club, no matter what happens.

In addition to the lance of St. George, the away jersey (black with white stripes) includes one more reference to the club’s history: the victory in the Paulista Championship of 1977, which broke a decades-long losing streak without a single title.

To complete this historical celebration, history itself lent a hand: 40 years later, Corinthians and Ponte Preta reprised the acclaimed final game of 1977. On game day, the FAITH IN THE BLACK AND WHITE campaign brought a giant flag measuring over 300 feet wide to the stadium, and launched the official video for the concept. The video revolves around the original 1977 narration by Osmar Santos on Rádio Globo.

The campaign, created by W+K São Paulo, also includes Faith in the Black and White medals, OOH media, and other pieces.
